Hydrogen Peroxide Method

Vertigo Treatment recommends using hydrogen peroxide. Soak a cotton ball in it, lie down, and place it on your ear, allowing the peroxide to seep in. Wait until popping sounds subside (about 5-10 minutes), then drain the ear.

Ginger Remedies

WebMD notes ginger as a potential relief for vertigo symptoms. You can consume ginger in various forms – capsules, raw, or as tea. For ginger tea, steep sliced ginger root in boiling water for 10 minutes, sweetening with honey if desired.

Ginkgo Biloba

Ginkgo biloba is another herb mentioned by WebMD for vertigo relief. Vertigo Treatment suggests taking 60 mg of ginkgo biloba two or three times daily.

Apple Cider Vinegar and Honey

Alternative Daily recommends a mixture of two parts honey and one part apple cider vinegar. Though lacking scientific backing, it’s a popular remedy. Take 1 tablespoon of this mixture two or three times daily.

Almonds

According to Medical News Today, almonds may inexplicably affect vertigo. Consume a handful daily, or try a paste made from soaked almonds, khuskhus seeds, and wheat, mixed with warm milk and consumed nightly as suggested by DIY Health Remedy.

Don’t let vertigo control your life. Alongside medical advice, these home remedies could provide some relief and help you reclaim your everyday activities.

The Meaning Behind Purple Porch Lights

0

The choice of purple is deliberate. Historically linked to courage, survival, and honor, purple signifies the resilience of survivors and the bravery required to escape abuse. It’s a color of empowerment, uniting communities in addressing domestic violence.

Awareness of domestic violence is crucial because its victims are often hidden in plain sight – they could be friends, neighbors, or family members who find it difficult to share their experiences. A purple porch light fosters an environment where survivors are encouraged to seek help and support.

Domestic violence can have enduring effects like trauma, depression, anxiety, or even fatal consequences. A purple light acknowledges the survivors’ suffering and signifies hope for healing.

Education is also key in combating domestic violence. Many people are unaware of what constitutes domestic violence or how to identify it. By using the purple porch light as a conversation starter, we can educate communities on various forms of abuse and ways to support survivors.

Supporting survivors extends beyond the symbolic purple light. It involves active listening, providing resources, and encouraging professional help. There are numerous organizations and hotlines dedicated to aiding survivors, and connecting them with these resources is crucial.

Preventing domestic violence means challenging societal norms that enable it, promoting healthy relationships, and holding perpetrators accountable. Awareness and community involvement are vital in creating a safer, violence-free world.

So, when you see a house with a purple porch light, remember its powerful message of hope, support, and solidarity with survivors of domestic violence. By spreading awareness and working together, we can forge a world where everyone is safe and empowered to break the cycle of abuse. This small act of illuminating a porch with purple light can make a significant impact in the lives of those affected by domestic violence.

Crockpot White Bean and Ham Soup

Slow Cooker Ham & White Beans – our favorite way to use our leftover holiday ham! Only 3 ingredients – ham, onion, and dried great northern beans. Cover with water and cook. Serve with some homemade cornbread. Comfort food at its best! #southern #crockpot #leftoverham #slowcooker #hambone

This is the last recipe from our Christmas ham. I always look forward to finishing off the ham with a nice big bowl of white beans and a slice of cornbread. This recipe is super simple. It uses a pound of dried beans and simmers all day in the crockpot with a big ham bone. The Honey Baked Ham store sells ham bones year-round (found that out on twitter). If you don’t have a ham bone, use some ham shanks, ham hocks or just some chopped up ham. I love the creaminess of white beans combined with the saltiness of the ham. This is comfort food at its best!

INGREDIENTS

⅓ cup Brown Sugar
1 Onion (Chopped)
1 ½ lb. Smoked Ham Hocks
1 lb. Great Northern Beans
Salt and pepper to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

Pour the beans into the bottom of the Crockpot.
Add the onion, ham hocks and brown sugar on top.
Cover the beans in about 2 inches of water.
Cook on high for 2 hours.
Reduce the heat to low and cook for an additional 4-5 hours.
Remove the ham hocks from the crockpot. Shred off the meat, and return the ham meat to the crockpot with the beans. Stir and serve with salt and pepper to taste.
Enjoy!
