Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup mashed potatoes
1/4 cup warm milk
2 tablespoons melted butter
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon instant yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
6-8 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions:

In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, melted butter, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until the yeast activates and becomes foamy.

Add the mashed potatoes and salt to the yeast mixture and mix well.

Gradually add the flour, about 1/2 cup at a time, while stirring with a wooden spoon. Continue adding flour until the dough comes together and is no longer sticky.

Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it for about 5 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until it doubles in size.

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down to release any air bubbles. Roll it out into a rectangle shape, about 1/4 inch thick.

Sprinkle the crumbled bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped green onions evenly over the dough.

Starting from one of the longer sides, tightly roll the dough into a log shape.

Using a sharp knife or a piece of dental floss, cut the log into 1-inch thick slices.

Place the slices on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each roll. Cover them with a kitchen towel and let them rise for another 20-30 minutes.

Brush the tops of the rolls with beaten egg wash.

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the rolls turn golden brown.

Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes.

Serve the Potato Rolls with Bacon warm, and enjoy!

These potato rolls with bacon make a delicious appetizer or side dish. Enjoy your meal!

5 Reasons To Add Vinegar In With The Laundry

Vinegar truly is a miracle product. Sure, certain types of vinegar taste great with fries. But distilled vinegar can be used for just about anything around the house. From cleaning and disinfecting to removing salt stains from boots, everyone should have a jug of distilled vinegar in their home. And after reading the following tips, you’re going to want to keep a jug in your laundry room, too!

1. Whiter Whites

Forget bleach and chemical-packed whiteners. Just toss a cup to a cup and a half of vinegar in with your laundry to see your whites look fresh and new again.

2. Protects Dark Clothing

While distilled vinegar can make your whites whiter, it can also make your darks darker. How? Well, laundry detergent and other residue sticks to dark clothing, making it appear lighter and worn out over time. Toss some vinegar in with your clothing and it will help to combat detergent and other chemicals from embedding themselves in your darks.

3. Removes Odors

One of the best qualities about distilled vinegar is its ability to remove unpleasant odors. If you’re dealing with stinky sports gear or just generally unpleasant clothing odors, toss a cup of vinegar in with your laundry.

4. Natural Fabric Softener

Dealing with a tough stain? Just spray some vinegar directly onto the area in question, then let it sit for about 15 to 20 minutes. Afterwards, wash as you normally would and the stain should be gone.

Foot care is essential for everyone, regardless of age. Hydration, exfoliation, and pedicure treatments are vital for maintaining beautiful feet, but they can be costly. Here’s a cost-effective, homemade recipe to pamper your feet, addressing common issues like dehydration, cracking, and hardening of the skin.

Causes of Foot Skin Problems:

Dehydration: The main cause of cracked heels. Lack of hydration leads to dry skin and thickening as a protective response. Without prompt care, cracks can worsen, becoming painful and itchy.

Nutritional Deficiencies: Deficiencies in vitamins and minerals, like iron, or conditions like diabetes and hypothyroidism, can lead to dry skin.

Environmental Factors: Walking barefoot, wearing uncomfortable shoes, or using harsh soaps can impact foot health.

Prolonged Standing: This can cause the skin on the feet to harden, leading to cracked heels.

Aging: As skin ages, it loses elasticity, becoming thick, dry, and more prone to cracking.

Obesity: Excess weight puts pressure on the heel, potentially leading to cracks if the skin is inflexible.

Symptoms:

Initial symptoms include rough, irregular, dry, and sensitive skin on the heel. As the condition worsens, cracks appear, taking on various colors and leaving the skin vulnerable to infections.

Homemade Foot Care Recipe:

Ingredients:

4 cups of milk

3 tablespoons of baking soda

Instructions:

Warm the milk and pour it into a basin.

Add baking soda and mix well, ensuring a comfortable temperature.

Soak your feet for 10 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water and dry.

Repeat this treatment weekly.

Benefits of Ingredients:

Milk: A natural nourisher and protector, milk moisturizes and softens the skin. It’s increasingly used in cosmetics for its anti-aging properties.

Baking Soda: It balances skin pH, has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties, limits sebum secretion, and is an effective exfoliant. It also combats odors and aids in healing infections or other foot conditions.

This simple, natural remedy can save you money on pedicure sessions while effectively nourishing and moisturizing your feet, keeping them in excellent condition.

9 potent ways to reduce uric acid naturally

0

Understanding and Managing Uric Acid Levels Naturally! Uric acid, a byproduct of cell breakdown and food digestion, is usually eliminated by the kidneys through urine. However, excess production or inadequate removal by the kidneys can elevate blood uric acid levels, leading to conditions like gout and kidney problems. While medications are available, several natural strategies can also help manage uric acid levels effectively.

Natural Ways to Manage Uric Acid Levels:

Reduce Purine Intake: High-purine diets elevate uric acid levels and increase gout risk. Foods like red meat, oily fish, and beer are high in purines and should be limited.

Limit Fructose Consumption: Fructose in fruit juices and sodas can spike uric acid production. Studies indicate that high fructose intake correlates with increased gout occurrences.

Increase Dairy Intake: Dairy products, especially low-fat options like milk, cheese, and yogurt, can enhance uric acid excretion.

Stay Hydrated: Drinking plenty of water helps stabilize and dilute uric acid, aiding in its elimination through the kidneys.

Moderate Alcohol Consumption: Beer and liquor increase gout risk, with wine posing a greater risk. Limiting alcohol intake is crucial.

Consume Anti-inflammatory Foods: Incorporate cherries, blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, and celery into your diet for their uric acid-reducing and anti-inflammatory properties.

Use Olive Oil for Cooking: Unlike other vegetable oils, olive oil remains stable at high temperatures and is rich in Vitamin E and antioxidants, which are beneficial for managing uric acid levels.

Boost Vitamin C Intake: Vitamin C enhances the body’s ability to excrete uric acid. Increase your intake through fruits and vegetables like oranges, lemons, strawberries, tomatoes, bell peppers, and broccoli.

Maintain a Healthy Weight: Obesity is a risk factor for gout as it leads to higher uric acid production and slower renal elimination. A healthy weight reduces the risk of gout.

Key Takeaway:

Dietary and lifestyle changes are pivotal in managing uric acid levels. These natural approaches can help prevent gout and other related health issues. Remember, if you’re experiencing joint pain or swelling, consult a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment. Simple tests can measure your uric acid levels, helping to guide effective management.

Don’t pour rice cooking water down the sink: why you do it wrong

0

We should never throw rice cooking water down the sink. Here is the reason.

In our diets, we often find the consumption of rice, this cereal popular in the dishes of Asian people that has also permeated our cuisine, becoming one of the most consumed foods.

Just think about how one of the latest culinary trends, poké  , has rice as a basic food and how its consumption has increased in recent years precisely thanks to this new food.

Rice: This is why you shouldn’t throw rice cooking water down the sink

Rice is very important for nutrition, as it can be a substitute for pasta, especially for those who are gluten intolerant and, therefore, need to obtain energy from other foods.

It is usually combined with legumes or vegetables, but even eaten naturally it is usually preferred with a little olive oil and some salt. We have always associated it in our collective imagination with the Chinese, Japanese or Korean people.

This is because, in  anime  and  manga,  seen and read, they have always given us a representation of the  smile  as an element of coexistence and favorite food of this population.

Now, however, we Italians also use it abundantly and rice has become one of the main foods in some typical recipes, such as Sicilian arancini di riso.

But not everyone knows that, when we go to cook rice, we make a serious mistake by throwing the cooking water down the sink. And the reason has nothing to do with possible deterioration of the sink.

But the reason is precisely that rice  is rich in elements useful for other purposes, and the cooking water could be valuable in solving many problems, especially aesthetic ones.

The different uses

By letting it cool after cooking the cereal, it can be used on most parts of our body to prevent irritation and redness of the epidermis by having a calming effect on our skin.

It also promotes skin elasticity and can be used as a natural anti-wrinkle, combating skin dryness. Mixing it with coconut oil you obtain a natural cosmetic product.

Rice cooking water is also useful for our hair skin. Using it as a natural mask will make your hair soft and silky and nourished and hydrated to the right extent if you use it as a conditioner.

But in addition to our body, rice cooking water can become an excellent herbicide for our garden. Its properties will make all weeds disappear and the plants will absorb its characteristics.

So, when we eat some rice  and are about to drain the water, think about how useful it could be and how much money it could save us, and maybe avoid throwing it away.

In addition, with rice cooking water , you can also make delicious meals, you just have to browse the Internet a little and see what dish you can prepare with it and delight the palates of your family or friends or

Birds Flying Low: This Is What It Means.

0

Observing birds flying unusually close to the ground can be more than just an interesting sight; it may actually be a natural indicator of impending rain. Birds possess an innate ability to sense atmospheric changes, such as fluctuations in pressure, humidity, and temperature, which are key in their daily routines like foraging and migration.

When a storm is approaching, atmospheric pressure drops, a change that birds can detect. As a result, they often exhibit certain behaviors that can hint at the arrival of rain. One key behavior is flying at lower altitudes. This helps them avoid the strong air currents and turbulence associated with incoming storm systems and enables easier navigation and quicker access to shelter.

Another sign of impending rain is increased bird activity. Just before a downpour, there’s often a noticeable surge in birds flying, calling, and gathering in flocks. This flurry of activity is a preparatory response to the expected weather change.

Some bird species, notably swallows and swifts, are particularly adept at predicting rain. They are often seen flying low and in large numbers before a storm, engaging in pronounced aerial maneuvers to catch insects also seeking shelter from the rain.

However, it’s important to remember that while low-flying birds can suggest rain is on the way, this behavior isn’t a foolproof indicator. Local geography, wind patterns, and storm intensity can affect the reliability of this natural sign. For more accurate weather predictions, it’s advisable to consult weather forecasts.

Observing bird behavior offers a glimpse into nature’s subtle ways of communicating impending weather changes. The sight of birds flying lower than usual can be a fascinating hint that rain might be on the horizon. So, next time you see birds soaring closer to the ground, it’s an opportunity to appreciate their natural instincts and the marvels of the natural world.

While it’s intriguing to notice these natural phenomena, for precise weather predictions, it’s best to rely on detailed weather forecasts. Enjoy the beauty of nature and the clues it provides about upcoming weather changes
